Position Summary:
The Underwriting Operations Associate provides technical rating and policy issuance support for routine to moderately complex transactions in underwriting. They work closely with agents, process mid-term premium and non-premium bearing endorsements, and ensure compliance with underwriting policies and procedures.

What will your job entail?
Responsibilities which will evolve over time but include:
- Assist in the drafting and revision of all new / renewal binding authority agreements (including endorsements) to ensure that all appropriate clauses, exclusions, regulatory / technical requirements have been included within the contract.
- Ensure that any new Lloyd’s Atlas requirements (and amendments) are entered into the online application system, including the annual compliance check.
- Ensure that there are signed and documented letters of authority in place authorizing Ryan to underwrite all relevant classes of business.
- Provide binding authority administrative support to the MGU’s and other stakeholders (as required).
- Identify process improvements and efficiencies.
- File, manage and maintain all documentation on internal Ryan system(s).
- Attend meetings internally, with MGU’s or Brokers and deal with general ad hoc tasks as required.
- Support the Head of DA in ensuring that Ryan binding authority Policies, Standards and Procedures are adhered to.
- Coordinate with Internal or external Audits due diligence requests and any subsequent recommendations with the necessary stakeholders.
Skills and Attributes:
- Good organisational and administrative skills.
- Accurate and numerate with a keen eye for accuracy and detail.
- Computer skills - strong working knowledge of MS Office (Excel).
- Confident communicator, both verbally and in writing, who can work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Motivational skills, team worker as well as working on own initiative.
- Ability to manage time, meet deadlines and prioritise.
- Previous work experience and an understanding of Lloyd’s and Company Insurance markets advantageous.
- Familiarity with Lloyd’s systems including Atlas, DCOM, DAM systems also favourable.
