Description
We’re looking for a standout risk leader to take on a highly visible role at the heart of Risk at CFC. As Head of Risk Business Partnering, you’ll bring our enterprise risk framework to life, turning strategy into action and making risk management a part of our everyday decision-making.
Working across underwriting, operations, and enabling functions, you’ll shape how teams understand and manage risk, building strong relationships and a culture of ownership. As the face of Risk to the business, you’ll lead engagement, education, and communication, ensuring accountability at every level.
Working closely with the Head of Risk Frameworks & Reporting, you focus will be to align our enterprise risk management strategy with effective implementation, helping design controls, support risk assessments, and drive smarter oversight through our Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) platform.
About the role
- Act as a strategic and operational risk advisor, helping business units identify, assess, and manage risks in line with the enterprise framework.
- Lead risk assessments, workshops, and training to build capability and strengthen risk culture across the first line.
- Support key change programmes, providing challenge, guidance, and assurance throughout delivery.
- Maintain and review risk and control records in the GRC platform, ensuring insights inform business decisions.
- Partner with the Risk Framework & Reporting team to ensure the framework is applied consistently and remains practical for the business.
- Serve as the face of Risk to the business, building strong relationships and ensuring risk thinking is embedded in strategic and operational decisions.
About you
You’ll bring solid experience in enterprise or operational risk management within insurance, reinsurance, or financial services, ideally with exposure to MGAs or the Lloyd’s market. A track record of embedding risk frameworks and culture into business processes and decision-making is essential, from risk assessment and control design to scenario analysis.
Hands-on experience with GRC systems and risk reporting will be key, to enable you to use data and insights to guide senior leadership decisions. The role also calls for strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to act as a trusted advisor, lead workshops and training, and champion a consistent risk culture across the business.
