Part of the Corporate UK and Ireland Finance Business Partnering Team. Supporting the Finance Business Partners to:
- Provide insight for better decision making
- Effectively communicate the monthly result for the Corporate UK and Ireland business
- Follow-up on any queries and inaccuracies in the reported result
- Supporting the facilitation of an efficient and effective annual planning process and quarterly forecast
Identify and implement finance process improvements – driving automation through the advanced use of excel, Power BI and artificial intelligence
The Role
Reporting
- Production of the Monthly Finance Packs to support the business in understanding the monthly result both overall and for each line of business
- Home Office reporting requirements including; premium analysis, performance overviews and adhoc requests
- Ownership of the quarterly accruals premium process
- Production of premium analysis including WD1 flash reports and fortnightly premium insight for the Ireland business
- Support with educating the business to build financial acumen across the teams to enable stakeholders to interpret the results themselves which will lead to better underwriting decisions in the future
Planning and Forecasting
- Support the Finance Business Partner with the Plan and Forecast P&L production process ensuring alignment with Home Office timetables and deliverables
- Support with the creation of the infrastructure for an efficient planning and forecasting process, including building and consolidating templates
- Responsible for uploading planning data in to the Home Office systems and liaising with Home Office to resolve any queries
Providing Insight
- Collate and assess competitor results
- Provide ad-hoc analysis to both Finance and the business
Process Improvement/Risk and Controls
- Understand the data flow within the company and suggest improvements to create greater consistency between MI reporting and financial reporting
- Drive continuous improvement of existing financial processes to satisfy business requirements and support commercial decision making; driving automation where possible
- Design, implement and maintain process controls
- Ensure documentation of processes is accurate, up-to-date and accessible

Skills & experience
Experience and Skills Required:
• Strong proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables, advanced formulas such as SUMIFS, XLOOKUP and MATCH, and the use of Conditional Formatting to enhance data analysis and presentation.
• Working knowledge of PowerPoint, with the ability to prepare clear and professional presentations to support management reporting.
• Demonstrates curiosity and an inquisitive mindset, delivering thorough and insightful analysis and anticipating questions from management.
• High level of attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and reliability of all analytical outputs.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across functions, engaging a diverse range of stakeholders to build constructive working relationships.
• Applies a logical and structured approach to problem solving, minimising errors and identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• AAT qualified and/or currently studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CA).
• Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent.
