Job Summary
The SVP, Financial Reporting, is responsible for leading the financial reporting processes for the Reinsurance Segment and Arch Reinsurance Company Ltd.. This includes ensuring compliance with US GAAP, whilst driving efficiency and the consistency in financial reporting across multiple jurisdictions. The candidate will have strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and technical accounting expertise, coupled with an enthusiasm for technological enhancements, accuracy, and attention to detail. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer of Arch Reinsurance Group and would be best suited for an organized, communicative, and collaborative leader.
Key Responsibilities
Financial:
- Partner with the CFO to ensure the integrity of the reinsurance segment’s financial information and the development of management information and analysis of financial results
- Oversee and enhance the reinsurance segments reporting process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in accordance with US GAAP and statutory accounting principles (as applicable).
- Ensure Arch Reinsurance Company regulatory reporting compliance with the NAIC.
- Harmonize and standardize financial reporting processes across global regions to drive efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.
- Monitor and assess the impact of accounting standard changes, leading implementation efforts where required.
- Work closely with underwriters, tax, and actuarial teams to ensure accurate accounting policies and financial compliance.
Harmonization & Process Optimization:
- Drive harmonization of financial reporting processes across all entities within the reinsurance segment.
- Lead financial reporting transformation initiatives, leveraging automation and technology to streamline processes.
- Establish standardized financial policies, procedures, and reporting templates to enhance global reporting accuracy and comparability.
- Collaborate with regional finance teams to identify and implement best practices for reporting, consolidation, and financial controls.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
- Oversee the financial planning and forecasting process for the Reinsurance Segment.
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to track business performance and drive operational efficiency.
- Ensure integration of financial reporting and planning processes, promoting consistency and transparency in financial data across global regions.
SOX Compliance & Internal Controls:
- Work with regional teams to monitor controls to ensure standardized controls across regions as appropriate.
Leadership:
- Serve as a key financial partner to the CFO Arch Reinsurance Group, Regional CFOs, and senior finance leadership, providing insights into financial performance, reporting risks, and compliance.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent).
- 12+ years of post-qualification experience within the (re)insurance industry in financial reporting, SOX compliance, and US regulatory accounting.
- Expertise in US GAAP and NAIC statutory/regulatory reporting frameworks.
- In depth technical accounting expertise.
- Strong knowledge of SOX 404 requirements, internal controls, and audit processes.
- Proven track record in harmonizing financial reporting processes and driving standardization across multinational teams.
- Experience with ERP systems (Workday) would be advantageous.
- Ability to manage financial risks and maintain strong internal controls.
For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
$210,300 - $283,860/year
Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
