Roles & Responsibilities
- Continuously analyse the portfolio and markets to identify product and segment opportunities.
- Underwrite profitable business in accordance with Starr Rotterdam’s business plans.
- Develop broker and client relationships to optimize opportunities for leading business, organizing, or attending regular meetings, presentations, and events.
- Conduct or attend relevant marketing meetings and presentations with brokers, clients, and reinsurers.
- Leverage client and company knowledge to identify and maximize cross-selling opportunities.
- Contribute to market groups and committees to enhance the Starr brand and reputation.
- Provide proactive technical coaching to team members to help develop their competencies and careers.
Who are we looking for?
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role within the large corporate co-insurance liability market.
- You are commercially minded, decisive, entrepreneurial, analytical, and customer-focused.
- Knowledge of market wordings, clauses, and reinsurance practices.
- Up-to-date understanding of claims activity and handling to inform future underwriting decisions.
- Strong appreciation of the global insurance and reinsurance market.
- Advanced skills in portfolio management.
- Responsibility for the Profit & Loss of the General Liability portfolio.
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in both Dutch and English.
