We are currently seeking an Billing Specialist to join our Vancouver team to support the Finance department. This position is ideal for a team player with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a proactive approach. The ideal candidate will have the ability to multi-task, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Generate draft bills (prebill/proforma) for Professional review
- Make edits and revisions based upon Professional requests and in compliance with client billing guidelines and client contracts
- Prepare invoices and ensure the distribution of the bills to internal team or client via email or e-bill
- Provide supporting copy of expense (disbursement) back up to accompany invoices as necessary
- Assist teammates on billing during high-peak period, coordinate with accounting department to resolve any billing issues
- Maintain and update Billing Information sheets
- Accurately respond to Client/Matter billing inquiries in a timely manner
- Ensure successful e-billing invoices submission to client portal (Bottomline, TyMetrix, CounselLink, CounselGo, etc)
- Analyze billing rejection, denials and past-due accounts, and work to resolve outstanding issues
- Manage file listing - follow up on missing budgets and closing files
- Prepare client reporting as required
- Review and follow up on outstanding AR as necessary
- Timely respond to internal/external request and enquiries
- Ad hoc projects
What will help you succeed in this role?
- Minimum of 3 year experience in a law firm billing
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures;
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Client service oriented and team player;
- Willingness to learn and grow, take on new responsibilities as needed;
- Ability to excel in a high volume, fast-paced environment;
- Knowledge of law firm billing processes and understanding of legal billing software is highly desirable (e.g., Elite or 3E);

Salary Range for this role is 50k-60k per year.
