Position Summary:
The Senior Property and Casualty Underwriter is responsible for overseeing and managing property and casualty business workflows, providing technical expertise and ensuring adherence to underwriting guidelines. The role develops strategies for new business opportunities and portfolio retention and actively contributes to achieving business targets. They cultivate long-term broker relationships, while also supporting training for new staff in underwriting processes.

What will your job entail?
Leadership: Provide leadership and strategic direction to the MGU operation in Europe, ensuring alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives.
Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets to drive growth and profitability. Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers, brokers, and clients.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards. Implement and maintain robust risk management and governance frameworks.
Financial Management: Assist develop and manage the annual budget and financial plans. Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to achieve financial targets.
Team Building: Help recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing team as discussed and agreed with RSUM leadership. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging risks. Provide insights and recommendations to inform business strategy and decision-making.
Renewable Energy Underwriting: Continue to build on the reputation of PERse International in Europe and further afield. Balance the growth of the business with shrewd Underwriting with the goal of returning a 60% net loss ration to Capacity providers
Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a proven track record in Underwriting roles within MGUs and/or Insurance companies.
Strong understanding of the insurance market in both Spain, Latin America and London, including regulatory requirements and industry dynamics.
