What is the role?
As an HR Policy Advisor, you will play a crucial role in developing, implementing and maintaining HR policies and procedures and making the relevant adjustments to align with the People First culture and in turn creating policies which can better resonate with our employees.
You will be responsible for advising on HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with UK employment legislation and best practices and will provide expert guidance to HR teams, ensuring policies align with our organisational goals and legal requirements.
Please note that this is a 1 year fixed-term contract (FTC) based in our Central London office. Following a hybrid work pattern, the expectation is to be onsite 2-3 days per week on average.
What will you be doing?
Support the Global HR Policy & Compliance Manager to develop, review and update HR policies and procedures in line with our Global HR Policy Governance Framework, employment law, organisational needs and best practices.
Keep informed on relevant trends, developments, and best practices updating policies to ensure they remain compliant with the latest legal requirements.
Update policies to become simpler and user friendly, written in engaging language by adhering to our tone of voice guidelines.
Ensure HR policies reflect best practices and support Howden’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) strategy by working closely with DE&I and legal to ensure policies support a positive workplace culture.
Working with HR Business Partners to ensure employees fully understand the policies and expectations, guidelines on communicating new policies or updates.
Evaluate the impact of policies on different stakeholders and work cross-functionally to enhance the employee experience.
Act as a subject matter expert on HR policy matters for business leaders and HR teams.
What are we looking for?
Previous experience in a similar role, supporting the development and implementation of HR policies within a complex and fast-moving global organisation.
Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
Ability to interpret legislation and apply it effectively in workplace policies.
Evidence of excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
