Job Description
We are in search of a Business Value Data Analyst to join our team as we strive for the continuous evolution of our digital products and advance our transformation across claims. This individual, reporting to the SVP Transformation & Portfolio Management, will be responsible for advancing critical initiatives across our North American portfolio, quantifying benefits of epics and features, facilitating communication across key business partners, engaging with internal teams and collaborating with the agile squads that develop our solutions. Additionally, this individual will work closely with claims operational data to ensure we are prioritizing the most critical work to drive the greatest business value.
In this role, communication, self-organization ability and management skills are key for the successful execution of daily activities within a dynamic environment receptive to new ideas and trends.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Business, Operations and Technology, to negotiate, manage, and prioritize features in the backlog that will drive greatest value
- Partner with Product Owners to understand the target outcomes of epics, features and requirements and with technology to understand the cost/effort of implementation
- Develop and manage a quarterly deployment plan, understanding and accounting for the team's capacity to distribute deliverables throughout the quarter
- Collaborate with business partners and stakeholders to understand and anticipate their needs and partner with the Product Owner them into product requirements
- Drive decision-making and remove impediments to squad’s progress by influencing key stakeholders, and escalating issues appropriately
- Exhibit a solid understanding of claims operational and financial reporting metrics and FP&A activities (e.g. budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis)
- Ensure that all initiatives are strategically aligned with the overall business objectives and financial goals of the company, demonstrating clear business value
- Collaborate with business partners to develop, enhance, and reconcile self-service reporting tools built using strategic BI tools
- Quickly prototype potential solutions and present various options to business stakeholders
- Analyze and integrate claim data from multiple sources
- Create data visualizations and transform data into innovative dashboard designs
- Develop skills and leverage Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI to drive efficiency and deliver high quality information solutions
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years experience in planning, product ownership, strategic execution or finance/business intelligence
- Ability to identify and clearly summarize business issues and clearly communicate the potential drivers
- Proficient with a variety of business intelligence tools (i.e. Qlik Sense, Microsoft Power Query and Power BI, SQL)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
- Highly effective analytical/problem solving and research skills
- Inherent desire to research new data sources and reporting methodologies
- Ability to maintain progress on multiple tasks and adjust quickly to meet business priorities
- Highly effective communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to liaise between highly technical staff in IT and analytics and end-user business partners
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, business leaders, and external partners
The pay range for the role is $96,200 to $163,500. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors.
