Arch Capital Services, LLC., seeks Senior Data Analyst in Washington, DC.
Job Duties:
Responsible for developing, maintaining, and modifying programs, reports, and analytical products needed by the business. Provide, on occasion, recommendations to management and executives through analysis of internal and external data. Interact with internal end users and/or outside vendors and play an active role in planning and execution of projects and initiatives. Create and prepare monthly and quarterly standard reports for stakeholders throughout the business unit. Gather data from various sources such as databases, APIs, web scraping, surveys, and third-party providers. Transform raw data into a suitable format for analysis, including aggregating data, creating new variables, normalizing data, and splitting data into training and testing sets if necessary. Investigate data sets to discover patterns, correlations, or anomalies that are relevant to the specific data / ad hoc requests. Act as subject matter expect by collaborating with stakeholders to comprehensively understand their specific questions or challenges, ensuring the provision of precise, data-driven insights tailored to their needs. Create visualizations that tell a clear and compelling story, highlighting key insights and making complex data more understandable to stakeholders. Collaborate with lead and/or manager to tailor reports and presentations to the audience's needs, ensuring that the key messages are aligned with business objectives. Use of version control systems (e.g., Git) to manage changes to analysis scripts and documentation, ensuring that updates are tracked, and previous versions can be retrieved if necessary. Build, optimize, and maintain data pipelines, ensuring data integrity, and enabling data availability for analysis. Develop data models, custom scripts, and specialized tools/applications to enhance data processing and analysis capabilities. Perform peer reviews.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Information Systems, Mathematics, Analytical Finance, or Data Science plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or related data-driven position.
Must have:
- 2 years of experience with at least one or more of the following analytic tools/languages: SAS, R, SQL, JavaScript, Python.
- 2 years of experience with programming concepts and principles including variables and data types, code readability and maintainability, and control structures.
- 2 years of experience with at least one or more of the following Mapping and Data Visualization tools: Power BI, Qlik, SAS Visual Analytics, Tableau.
- 2 years of experience in Microsoft Excel to convert raw data into meaningful formats for analysis.
- Experience performing basic descriptive statistics (mean, median, standard deviation) and performing trend analysis, identifying patterns over time in data.
Hybrid work model position working 2 days in office, and 3 days within normal commuting distance of office location #LI-DNI.
For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
$110,739 - $156,700 per year
Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above range may be modified in the future.
