The Senior Scrum Manager will lead the agile team and development partners through the software development life cycle process. This would include Agile Scrum-based Software development, Hybrid Agile based development along with cross functional communication, software technical project management, requirements traceability, source code control, test case management and defect tracking. This position may define the metrics to be used to track process improvement in Agile methodologies.
Job Responsibilities
This role will work with multiple development partners to build scalable software and module development lifecycle processes.
- Leads team through the Agile SDLC
- Collaborates with partners to transition the operating model to Agile methodologies and processes, including scrum, Kanban and/or SAFe
- Implements processes, practices, and tools to allow for multiple paths of delivery by creating simplified, consistent, reusable, efficient and flexible methodologies
- Recommends improvements and drives alignment across the organization
- Inspires others to adopt new processes and improvements based on program retrospectives
- Works with 3rd party software groups to coordinate schedules and deliverables
- Organizes and executes software team training, coaching, mentoring, and Agile Sprint Ceremonies
- Works across multiple technical teams to develop business solutions
- Creates and manages work item tracking features, tasks and raises escalating impediments as needed
- Implements demand management analysis and planning activities
- Performs what-if analyses and scenario planning; develops insights and proposals to improve business value
- Ensures that realistic sprint plans are maintained and ensures regular and accurate communication to stakeholders
- Provides effective leadership to the scrum team, and takes appropriate action where team performance deviates from agreed tolerances
- Plans and drives scoping, requirements definition and prioritization activities for large, complexinitiatives
- Provides direction, support and guidance as necessary, in line with individuals’ skills and abilities
- Acts to facilitate effective working relationships between team members
- Lead sprint planning and estimation of stories with their teams
- Responsible for organization and facilitating Agile team stand ups, including team retrospectives
- Assists the core team members and product owner in removing Impediments that obstruct their team’s goals and commitments
- Occasionally required to work late evening and weekends as needed.
- Up to 10% travel as needed.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business-related field, Computer Science or equivalent experience
Certification
Work Experience
- 5+ years’ experience as a scrum master or engineer
- 5+ years’ agile technical project management of multiple software releases
- Experience with Project Management and Agile collaboration tools such as JIRA, EazyBI, Confluence
- Experience leading team sprint planning and skilled at utilizing numerous estimation methods
- Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, test automation and cloud deployment
- Knowledge of and the ability to balance relationships with suppliers utilizing the appropriate level of oversight, probing and persistence in order to achieve win/win
- Familiarity with design thinking and customer centric design
