Position Description
The Business Operations Specialist manages various centralized underwriting services and support functions. This position utilizes their expertise to provide recommendations on Best Practice approaches, optimal process efficiency, and compliance requirements. The Specialist directs work assignments amongst assigned resources to meet Service Levels. Additionally, the position is accountable for maintaining workflow documentation, tracking production, and quality results. The Specialist works closely with key business unit contacts, colleagues, and management to ensure commitments are met. This position has no direct personnel management responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Direct management of assigned work processes(s) both on and offshore, which may include but are not limited to:
- Submission clearance, Producer Appointments, Claims Adjuster Licensing, Automobile rating, Policy/Endorsement issuance, Motor vehicle services, Workers’ Compensation Reporting/Filings/Notices, Bureau CRIT research and resolution and Client Notification Services
- Other work functions as developed and assigned
- Effectively collaborates with Management, Business Units, Producers, and/or Clients
- Manages to an optimum workflow
- Effectively handles escalated customer service issues
- Trains new hires and identifies training needs of existing employees
- Effectively handles IT related issues impacting workflow and production
- Implements assigned projects as needed
- Accountable for identifying and escalating compliance related issues
- Accountable for meeting established performance metrics
- Other duties as needed

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or 5-7 Years insurance industry experience required
- INS, AAI, CISR or similar insurance designation preferred
- System Implementation experience preferred
- Change Management experience preferred
For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
$56,000 - $72,000/year
Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
