A 4 week intern role to experience what it is like to work for Markel.
The primary purpose of this position is to begin to develop the basic skills required to to successfully handle claims. As an Intern in Claims, you will be exposed to reviewing and analyzing claims notices, updates, and other claims correspondence, in addition to reviewing and analyzing the insurance policies under which the claims arise. You will also become familiar with claims handling systems, processes, and procedures. You will interact with multiple Claims and Underwriting teams and will gain exposure to our Property, Professional Liability, and Excess Casualty product lines. You will attend and participate in regular Claims team or Claims & Underwriting team meetings to understand how Claims supports the business in risk assessment and profitability.
