Position Overview:
The Assistant Vice President, Exposure Management will play an important Group-level role in the effective implementation, monitoring and reporting of Arch’s exposure risk management framework. The successful candidate will collaborate with global cross-functional and cross-organizational teams to estimate the financial impact of risk exposures for Arch Capital Group.
Key Responsibilities:
Risk Assessment and Monitoring:
- Calculate the Group’s exposures to risk aggregation including natural catastrophe PMLs, per named insured aggregations and other man-made catastrophic realistic disaster scenarios such as cyber, terrorism and credit risk by aggregating subsidiary-level information.
- Collaborate with underwriters and local experts to ensure Group exposure estimates align with the underlying portfolio.
- Challenge the current approaches and process to foster an environment of continuous improvement.
Risk Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare comprehensive quarterly risk reporting to executive management and the Arch Capital Group Board of Directors.
- Lead regulatory reporting processes related to exposure management including Bermuda solvency capital reporting and ratings agency data calls.
Project Management:
- Collaborate with relevant project teams to ensure the timely and successful implementation of risk management-related initiatives.
- Implement strategic process improvement for exposure management and reporting including transitioning excel-based process into database solutions.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of exposure management and reporting for a global non-life (re)insurer.
- Incumbent should have Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience in non-life insurance. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CRM, CERA, CFA, CPA, CPCU, ARM) is a plus.
- Strong Excel, Python and SQL skills are required. Proficiency in PowerBI and working knowledge of catastrophe modeling output preferred.
- Demonstrated effective project management skills working across organizational boundaries.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work productively both independently and as part of a decentralized team of risk professionals.

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
$148,600 - $201,000/year
Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
