Position summary:
Perform all aspects of accounting on individual risk and program business. Oversee monthly billing and daily cash application. Maintain relationships with clients and assistant underwriters, to effectively research collection issues and clear overdue balances in a timely manner. Participate in the preparation of monthly closing reports and quarterly underwriting results. This position will service both Property and Casualty Facultative divisions.
Responsibilities include:
- Analyze & process monthly/quarterly premium bordereaux for program business
- Reconcile invoicing to supporting documentation
- Confirm premium is calculated according to contractual terms
- Review program contract setup for accuracy in the reinsurance system
- Follow up and respond to client related requests
- Follow-up for missing accounts
- Follow-up on overdue balances and unapplied cash amounts
- Oversee the monthly billing process for new certificates/endorsements to direct clients and brokers
- Oversee the daily vouchering and application of cash receipts and disbursements
- Prepare monthly & quarterly outstanding receivable and unapplied cash reports
- Reconcile monthly cash reports
- Assist with the preparation, calculation, and booking of quarterly ceded premium and loss bordereaux
- Assist in the preparation of various management reports on a quarterly basis
- Assist in the preparation of Assumed & Ceded Schedule F for Annual Statement
- Ensure effective SOX controls are maintained and followed

Education/Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 5-7 years of reinsurance or insurance accounting experience
- Experience in property & casualty reinsurance assumed/ceded accounting a plus
- ARe certification and/or CPCU courses a plus
For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
$125,000 - $135,000/year
Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
