Job Description
The successful candidate will be a General Claims Adjuster and will be working on a hybrid work setup in Edmonton, Alberta. They will be actively involved in evaluating large, complex loss claims with a focus on property (commercial, condominium, and construction ) claims through loss investigation and be responsible for negotiating settlements following provincial licensing requirements, while maintaining adequate production levels and customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Reviews and analyzes experts’ reports
- Selects and directs independent experts
- Identifies and pursues subrogation opportunities
- Secures and manages litigation disposition plans and budgets
- Detailed recording of file activities and transactions in both Crawford and Company and client-based systems
- Maintains accurate expense accounts
- Work with manager to maintain client relation
- Ability to liaise and work with all facets of the insurance community including brokers, risk managers, legal counsel and regulators
Qualifications
- 5 or more years of functional and technical claims handling experience in large loss, commercial claims and condominium claims
- Ideal candidate will have a construction and property background specializing in project management, quantification and appraisal
- Commercial policy interpretation and experience in making recommendations to the market
- Has an active adjuster license or working towards CIP and/or FCIP designation
- Reliable transportation required
- Valid driver's license is required
- Regular travel to loss sites is required
- Strong report writing skills
- Must be a team player with outstanding customer service skills
