Position Summary:
The Senior Claims Advocacy Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing claim analysis and advocacy strategies. The role serves as a subject matter expert on complex issues and collaborates with internal stakeholders to innovate solutions for claims management. They represent the company in high-level negotiations, monitor industry trends, and drive initiatives for operational efficiency and strategic development, fostering strong relationships for organizational success in the specialty insurance market.

What will your job entail?
Key Responsibilities:
- Claims Management: Handle and resolve complex marine insurance claims from inception to settlement.
- Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations to determine the validity of claims, including gathering and analysing evidence.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate records of claims, correspondence, and settlements.
- Client Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders to provide updates and resolve issues.
- Compliance: Ensure all claims are handled in accordance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on claims status, trends, and outcomes for management review.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including underwriting and legal, to ensure a coordinated approach to claims handling.
Qualifications:
- Education: A completed HBO degree, preferably in Financial Service Management or a specialization in "Law," with an HBO/WO working and thinking level. Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business, Law, or a related field.
- Experience: Experience in marine insurance claims handling.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of marine insurance policies, regulations, and industry standards.
