Job Description:
This position will be responsible for the active management of E&O claims within the Professional Liability/Cyber Claims Group. Prior experience handling Cyber, lawyers and/or accountants professional liability claims is preferred. The successful candidate will be required to evaluate coverage, draft coverage correspondence, undertake claims investigations, manage defense counsel and legal spend, assess liability and financial exposure, and effectively negotiate cost effective, good faith claims resolutions.
Requirements:
- 5-8 years of experience in the insurance/legal profession dealing specifically with Professional Lines claims.
- In-depth understanding of policy language/coverage.
- Experience managing, evaluating, mediating, and negotiating E & O claims, including class actions. Ability to lead and drive defense strategy.
- In-depth knowledge of the U.S. legal system, civil litigation, and ADR proceedings.
- Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of federal and state laws applicable to various claims presented under Financial and Professional Lines policies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Take initiative. Be pro-active.
- Excellent organization skills. Ensure client files are properly documented and compliant from an audit perspective.
- Bachelor’s degree, Juris Doctorate preferred.
