The role
Phoenix is starting its journey on a long-term programme of work to simplify our product estate and benefit both customers and shareholders.
You will be responsible for supporting the analysis of proposed product changes from a commercial perspective. Being involved in working with a range of stakeholders, including proposition owners and finance teams, to understand, model and propose new strategies for managing commercial pricing structures and profitability. You will support, review and challenge proposals on the pricing of new and existing products through the application of actuarial expertise or technical knowledge.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience of working within the Pension and Savings industry with an extensive knowledge of the range of products offered
- Proven experience of performing commercial calculations, including analysing complex, technical and numerical problems, providing practical solutions and implementing these with the project.
- Strong numerical skills with experience in specifying and building commercial models
- Ability to gather, analyse and interpret data to determine its impact on the profitability of new and existing products, applying actuarial or commercial techniques to model and assess situations
- Ideally you will understand cash flows, actuarial modelling and the relative importance of elements within an actuarial context
- Ability to think both creatively and strategically along with being able to collaborate across a variety of internal stakeholders throughout the business and across project workstreams
