- Highly varied, fast-paced, high-impact role driving compliance excellence.
- Opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders, giving you visibility and a platform to help shape important business decisions.
- Hybrid role with 80% homeworking and 20% based in Stratford-upon-Avon.
About the role:
Are you a skilled communicator with a passion for navigating the evolving regulatory landscape? Do you thrive in high-stakes environments where precision, insight, and relationship-building are key? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity to join our second line Prudential Compliance team within the Risk Division as a Prudential Governance Consultant.
In this high-impact role, you will serve as a primary point of contact between NFU Mutual and the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA). You will play a critical role in managing regulatory communications, ensuring alignment with prudential regulations, and preparing senior leadership for key regulatory interactions. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of regulatory policy, risk management and strategic business planning.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing day to day communications with the PRA to ensure transparency and compliance.
- Overseeing regulatory submissions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness – including formal notifications, regulatory returns, and responses to information requests.
- Monitoring and interpreting PRA policy developments and guidance specific to the insurance industry and NFU Mutual Group, assessing their impact on the business and providing timely advice to key business stakeholders on necessary actions or adjustments.
- Developing high-quality briefing materials and reports to support senior executives and Board members with regulatory interactions and ongoing compliance.
- Tracking and reporting on regulatory commitments, ensuring timely and effective delivery of agreed actions.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and records of all regulatory interactions and correspondence to support governance, reporting, and audit requirements.
About you:
Your communication skills are exceptional—you can break down complex regulatory requirements into clear, concise, and actionable information that resonates with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Whether engaging with senior leaders, business units, or regulators, you convey messages with clarity and professionalism, fostering trust and collaboration.
You are highly organised and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously without losing sight of accuracy and quality. Your analytical mindset means you proactively identify risks and opportunities within the regulatory environment, providing insights that help the business stay ahead of change.
Working independently comes naturally to you, yet you thrive as a team player who builds strong relationships across departments. You remain composed and effective under pressure, adapting quickly to shifting priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Technical skills required:
- Demonstrable experience working in regulatory liaison or 2nd Line compliance role within the financial services sector.
- A deep understanding of the UK financial services regulatory framework.
- Experience understanding and interpreting regulations.
- Proficiency in written communication – including formal report writing.
- Strong digital literacy, especially using MS Office Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Desirable – technical knowledge of financial risk.
