Job Description
The Operations Specialist will learn various rating functions & processes in order to support Underwriting with critical data necessary for their risk pricing process. They will review, analyze and prepare rating for multiple lines of business. An Operations Specialist will develop their knowledge through self-study courses and formal rating training.
What you will do for C&F:
- Ensure policy transactions are rated, booked, invoiced and issued accurately and meet the corporate time service standards. Such transactions may be quotes, new business, renewals, endorsements and cancellations.
- Screen transactions to determine proper processing. Refer transactions to underwriters that require their approval, complete transactions directly if within delegated authority limits.
- Assist in quality verification of all policy transactions, processes and procedures.
- Report policy data to third party reporting agencies such as ePlace Registration.
- Communicate, as needed, with Accounting and Audit to answer policy questions and resolve issues.
- Work with system support to test releases when the verification of successful programming involves a review of the production environment.
- Electronically print documents into the imaging system, page mark and label the documents appropriately adhering to the corporate protocols.
- Loss intake and claims support.
What you will bring to C&F:
- Insurance policy processing experience a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; High school diploma/GED required.
- Detail oriented with the ability to make independent decisions.
- Ability to follow protocol with an emphasis on quality and customer service.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access) and other software applications.
- Excellent organizational, prioritizing, and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills in person and over the phone.
- Will abide by departmental policies and procedures, including authority levels, to comply with C&F's risk management controls.

Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $34,400.00 to a maximum of $64,600.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
