About the role
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Commercial Underwriter (Property, Liability & Motor) to join our Commercial Underwriting team in Auckland to drive new and existing business.
This role will see responsibility for:
- Preparing and communicating quotations, bindings, policy conditions and mid-term adjustments/ endorsements
- Negotiating rates/terms with brokers
- Following up offer of new quotations/renewals
- Updating reporting systems
- Development and maintenance of broker relationships including visitations to client offices which may include presentations
- Ensuring excellent service standards are maintained
- Answering broker enquiries
- Working effectively with the team to accomplish agreed underwriting goals
About you
We’re looking for a self-starter with strong communication and organisational skills, and at least three years of property underwriting experience. You’ll have a solid understanding of client industries, businesses, and risks. Additionally, your market knowledge, interpersonal skills, and passion for delivering exceptional customer service and building relationships will be key. You thrive in a collaborative, close-knit team environment, have the ability to make sound decisions, and are driven to grow the business through team success while continuously seeking personal development
