How you'll make an impactJob Details:
Employment Status: Full Time
Job Location: Brownsville
Hours of Operation: 40 hours a week, set by Risk Manager
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Audit Captive agencies, Franchises, I/As, and Underwriting System functionality
Assist with key underwriting activities
Provide Underwriting guidance, feedback, and recommendations across all departments
Resolve agency concerns and complaints
Assist in coordinating carrier audits
Communicate system and procedure changes to operations/ training group
Internal Relations: Underwriting Specialist, Claims Department, Sales force & all channels of distribution
Contributions: Ensure agencies are properly underwriting through audits, support underwriting functions
Perform analytics on agency trends including underwriting, loss ratios, previous and current underwriting compliance, book of business demographics
Develop routine projects/audits and complete special projects as required
Proactively and efficiently prepare weekly reports on productivity and project updates
Contribute in creating integrated strategies to develop and expand existing internal controls
Education, Experience and Traits
High School Diploma Required, Bachelors Preferred
1+ years of insurance experience
Strong Independent working skills
Self starter with good analytical and problem solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (most importantly Excel)
Excellent communication skills both oral and written
Bilingual English & Spanish (required)
About YouRequired: Minimum secondary education required, 1-3 years related experience.
Preferred: Understanding of general insurance and legal principles. General knowledge of banking and accounting principles.
