This is a pivotal role responsible for delivering regional sales and retention strategies, enhancing customer outcomes, and contributing to the overall performance of our General Insurance division.
About the RoleAs Commercial Director, you will lead a team of Account Executives and Development Executives, providing direction, coaching, and support to help them achieve their targets. You’ll work closely with the Branch Director to implement business strategies, drive revenue growth, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and inspire a team of Account Executives to deliver growth through retention, cross-sales, and new business
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and threats
- Collaborate with the Branch Director to meet financial targets and improve customer outcomes
- Oversee risk management and ensure compliance with Consumer Duty and FCA requirements
- Drive operational improvements and standardisation across the branch
- Contribute to regional development plans and placement strategies
- Build strong relationships with clients, insurers, and internal stakeholders
- Promote a culture of accountability, inclusion, and high performance
- Manage budgets, cost controls, and financial governance within the branch
- Support talent development and succession planning across the team
What We’re Looking For- Proven experience in a senior management role within the insurance industry
- Strong track record of delivering revenue growth and managing P&L budgets
- Deep understanding of commercial insurance placement and market dynamics
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and people management skills
- Strategic thinker with strong commercial awareness and financial acumen
- Ability to build and maintain relationships across all levels of the business
