Leading Title Agency is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Underwriting Counsel to join our team. Attention to detail, excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities Include:
- The Senior Commercial Underwriting Counsel position is responsible for handling large volumes of files, and time sensitive material associated with transaction matters and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assignments.
- Utilize underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits, to underwrite the issuance of title insurance and provide guidance in the performance of real estate settlement services.
- Provide underwriting support, counsel, and authorization to company personnel, agents, and clients, related to the issuance of real estate title insurance commitments and policies.
- Provide guidance to company personnel in the performance of real estate settlement services.
- Issue underwriting standards and guidelines in accordance with established company processes.
Requirements:
- Ability to foster, develop and maintain professional and collaborative working relationships
- The ability to read, analyze and interpret complex legal documents
- The ability to apply logic or legal principles to a wide variety of complex problems
- Knowledge of the title insurance industry, including knowledge of its products, policies, and endorsements
- Juris Doctor; active and current member of a State Bar
- 10+ years of experience as Commercial Underwriting Counsel
- Knowledge of commercial insurance coverage, and real estate terminology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficient in a variety of computer software systems, such as Microsoft Office
- Willingness and ability to learn and utilize new software systems

The annual base salary for this position is $150,000 - $300,000.
