Position Summary
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Vice President to lead the Claims Data Solutions and Insights team. The ideal candidate should demonstrate balanced skillsets between technical excellence and business acumen. He/she will collaborate with senior leaders in strategic Claims Transformation and Claims Data initiatives, providing valuable insights to drive/promote a data-driven decision-making culture. The role reports to the Senior Vice President of Claims Business Intelligence and Actuarial Insights.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 6-8 onshore and offshore resources at different experience levels. Effectively set and track priorities, delegate, and review assignments, create efficient workflows, and ensure on-time and quality deliverables.
- Bring a distinct data consumer prospective to ensure that business intelligence, operational metrics, modeling, analytics, and reporting requirements are effectively fulfilled. This encompasses a comprehensive understanding of how claims data flow into, within, and outside claims systems, along with the intended use, dependencies, and impacts as well as a strong understanding of business processes and their association with source system and/or vendor data.
- Collaborate with corporate data delivery teams to create data strategy and develop meaningful claims data products for boarder business user community
- Provide end-to-end data & analytics solutions to Claims Transformation initiatives
- Work closely with global analytics team in developing and implementing AI/ML solutions into claims workflow, tracking success and identifying opportunity areas
- Identify and propose essential data elements necessary to support strategic initiatives and ensure they are captured with precision, completeness, consistency
- Define and develop use cases based on business priorities and anticipate potential impact. Document business requirements and clearly articulate business benefits
- Work in close partnership with Claims Actuarial Insights and Claims Business Intelligence teams to provide actionable insights and creative solutions holistically to Claims, Underwriting and Actuarial stakeholders
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree; 10+ years of experience in P&C insurance industry focusing on data-driven decision-making; Claims data & analytics experience a huge plus.
- Strong leadership skills with prior managerial experience and excellent project management skills
- Strategic mindset with strong financial and operational acumen
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with stellar track record in analyzing and connecting complex datasets to identify actionable business insights
- Proficiency in one of the following: SQL, R or Python
- Working knowledge of QlikSense, Power BI, or Tableau is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present data findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong organizational and documentation skills, keen attention to detail
- Thriving in a fast-paced, fluid environment
The pay range for the role is $140,000 to $238,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors.
