Under general supervision, performs standard duties utilizing routine claims handling procedures on assignments of low complexity or of a repetitive nature.
This position enjoys a flexible, hybrid work schedule and is available in any location near a CNA office.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
Performs routine processing of the least complex claims, following established procedures.
Receives new claim notices, confirms coverage, verifies applicability of coverage to the claim, and establishes a claim file.
Within designated authority, reviews routine claims utilizing preset procedures to determine claim resolution.
On a limited basis, collaborates with insureds, claimants, and repair or replacement suppliers for routine matters. Following preset procedures verifies accuracy and validity of bills and estimates.
Obtains backup documentation as necessary to substantiate claims.
Utilizing preset procedures, identifies depreciation or subrogation potential in first-party claims, and utilizes medical and pharmaceutical fee schedules in workers' compensation claims.
Maintains files and prepares standard statistical reports as requested.
May provide assistance and/or training to other Claims Technicians.
May assist in special project work.
May update the claims systems.

Knowledge of applicable insurance products.

Detail-oriented.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software.
Externally focused.
Education and Experience
High school diploma, GED or equivalent. experience. Some college preferred.
Typically, a minimum three years of experience.

In certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In District of Columbia,California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $35,000 to $65,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
