Position Summary
The Brokerage Manager is responsible for leading a team of brokers to achieve profitable growth within their designated book of business. The role delivers revenue targets, manages customized underwriting solutions, and forges strong in-person relationships with key internal and external stakeholders such as brokers, clients, and partners. They advise the team on complex risk assessment, evaluate complex exposures, and strategically place clients with optimal carriers. They oversee seamless policy issuance and risk mitigation while ensuring adherence to strict compliance regulations.
What will your job entail?
Job Responsibilities:
• Drives sales of insurance solutions and leads a team of brokers assigning them responsibilities and goals.
• Resolves client complaints, promptly confirms quotes and binders in writing, evaluates team performance, and gives actionable feedback for improvement.
• Partners with clients and agency stakeholders, understands their unique needs and challenges and suggests solutions through in person meetings and marketing efforts.
• Oversees the development of customized insurance solutions focused to exceed client expectations, drives client retention, and delivers business growth while adhering to guidelines.
• Exercises independent judgment and discretion while assessing complex risks and strategically placing them with optimal carriers. Recommends favorable commission structures and builds mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with retail brokers.
• Identifies cross sell opportunities with clients to strengthen existing partnerships and seeks referrals to gain new client relationships.
• Attends operational client reviews, participates in audits with claims and underwriting teams and operational leaders.
• Identifies discrepancies or variances in operational plans, follows proper channels to escalate them to relevant teams, and advocates for swift resolution.
Work Experience and Education:
• Minimum of 6 years of work experience in Wholesale Brokerage, Commercial insurance coverages, Sales or Underwriting with 3 years of supervisor or lead experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred; Business Administration, Sales, and Risk Management preferred. Any other related discipline or commensurate work experience considered.
Licenses & Certifications:
• State P&C and/or surplus line license is required.
• Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), or Associate in Risk Management (ARM) a plus.

The target salary range for this position is $94,850.00 - $100,000.00 annually.
The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
