What We're Looking For
As a Motor Product Initiatives Manager, you will become an engaged and valued member of the Motor In Life and Renewals team. You will support the Initiative Lead to maximise the value DLG and Customers get from our Motor insurance products.
Your primary purpose is to identify and deliver key initiatives, using data and insight to determine what those initiatives should be, and then effectively deliver those at speed through great stakeholder management, clear and concise planning and a can do attitude.
You’ll be commercially aware and be comfortable analysing and interpreting data.
You’ll have experience of delivering small and large-scale initiatives, and have the ability to manage multiple change items at once.
This role is a hybrid opportunity with two working days a week from our London or Leeds office.
What You'll Need
- Sense of curiosity to understand and work with key stakeholders in order to deeply understand and deliver initiatives.
- Focus on commercial outcomes by looking at initiatives through a customer lens, ensuring the development of initiatives takes into consideration all key stakeholders and thus meets internal processes and external regulation.
- Awareness and appreciation for changing market trends and conditions.
- Awareness of upcoming regulatory changes and consideration for how these may impact our products and projects that are in flight
- Ability to gather and synthesise information from a broad range of customer, market and competitor sources to build a rich, robust information base about the wider business context and use this insight to drive idea generation and execution.
- Understanding of rules and requirements of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and any other legal/regulatory/risk management frameworks, keeping abreast of any changes.
- Strong interpersonal skillset and experience in stakeholder management
- Ability to handle data, including interpretation and storytelling
- Ability to manage a backlog of initiatives and prioritise effectively
What You'll Be Doing
- You will be part of the Motor In Life and Renewals team and be responsible maximising the value of our Direct Line, Churchill and Privilege Motor Insurance products.
- Work alongside key stakeholders across the business such as trading, digital, marketing, technology, regulatory compliance, operations and claims.
- Ensure customer outcomes are considered and customer best interests’ rules are adhered to when decisions are made.
- Actively seek out and bring the ‘voice of the customer’ into the initiative idea; analyse and understand our customer behaviour, motivations and pain points to identify if a change needs to adapt to meet these fully.
- Refine initiative ideas to deliver maximum benefit for the customer and DLG, by ensuring we have a test and learn approach to all deliveries of our projects so we can reliably measure their impacts.
- Monitor the performance of our products and benchmark these against the market.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with matrix partners you work with to deliver your initiatives in order to set joint objectives that are regularly measured and monitored; provide direction and facilitate effective challenges to proposed business change; and ensure minimal disruption to the business.
- You will help lead trading meetings to support our trading team with focusing department wide initiative delivery on the right things, and tracking impacts and actions in a clear and orderly manner to understand impacts on performance.
- You will identify, own and manage the risks and issues of delivering initiatives, ensuring they are adequately raised and signed off.
