The Talent Acquisition team is responsible for attracting and hiring staff for all departments in the UK region. The team will support the business with strong recruitment guidance and time efficient support to help them achieve their business workforce plans by attracting and hiring the best talent.
We are seeking a high performing Talent Acquisition Adviser who through their natural passion for attracting and hiring talent, will effectively support the business with a robust and relevant recruitment process and provide a positive hiring experience for all candidates, showcasing Canopius’ positive culture and brand.
The Talent Acquisition Adviser will report to the Lead Talent Acquisition Manager in Manchester and will be part of the wider HR Capability function.
The Talent Acquisition Adviser will successfully manage the end-to-end recruitment for UK roles, meeting business recruitment demands and strategic business workforce plans and to support the ongoing optimisation of our recruitment strategy and processes. This role will undertake a proactive approach to successfully partner business managers to attract and hire top talent for vacancies, working collaboratively with recruitment agencies / search firms (when appropriate) and keeping recruitment costs competitive at an appropriate level.
Responsibilities
- Positively partner and support business areas to manage the full life-cycle of recruitment for
vacancies through to offer stage e.g. conduct meaningful ‘briefing’ intake meetings, screen
cvs, hold agency briefings, conduct initial HR screening including competency interviews,
prepare a shortlist of candidates, provide candidate feedback and to act as their recruitment
‘expert’.
- Support business with devising appropriate recruitment job specs for internal and external
advertising, ensuring role accountabilities, skills and experience are clear and in line with
Canopius’ career framework
- Robustly and correctly manage the correct approvals for all roles in line with internal
Requirements
- Consistently engage and support the business to understand and utilise the use of Canopius’
career band competency questions in line with Canopius’ career framework and inclusive
hiring processes.
- Build and manage candidate pipelines using a range of networks, including the Lloyds
Market, LinkedIn, recruitment agents and various databases to enable the attraction of the
best talent in the market
- Champion best practice related to recruitment processes including embracing system
automation changes / testing for process efficiencies
- Minimise, when appropriate, use of search firms and agencies in order to reduce recruitment
cost expenditure
- Showcase and increase participation in the Canopius Employee Referral Scheme for all roles
- Build and maintain good relationships with external recruitment agencies
- Support process recruitment admin tasks such as sharing with the team, the management of
Jobs inbox, responding to speculative employment enquiries and agency enquiries.
- Provide relevant recruitment data for routine management information reports and documents
- Actively use our HR system to manage roles, approvals to hire, preparing offer letters and
associated documentation, contracts, service agreements, etc.
- Engage and provide positive support with any recruitment efforts ‘Early Careers’ roles such
as Internships, Graduates, Apprentices.
- Embrace and support change with the optimisation of our recruitment system.
- Collaborate with the wider HR Function to ensure a seamless and professional on-boarding
experience for new joiners.
- Continuously review and implement recruitment processes and policies.
Skills And Experience
- Adapting to change: Good experience as a Recruitment Consultant / Partner within the
Insurance industry (preferred) or within Financial Services industry. Understands business
resourcing needs and challenges, monitors pulse of market for roles and is ultimately driven
to attract talent to the organisation and in times of change.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Good stakeholder management relationship skills with a positive
ability to build and sustain positive and collaborative working relationships including ability to
guide managers on utilising a structured interview process and appropriate interview
techniques / practices.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Positively demonstrates teamwork and collaboration with
other colleagues and strives to share knowledge, best practice and work in a collegiate
manner.
- Innovation: Able to drive and influence positive business behaviours to implement
competency questions / assessments / inclusive hiring processes / positively leveraging hiring
system and processes and encouraging managers to do the same. Demonstrable experience
with recruitment systems and processes and is curious and engaged to optimise recruitment
processes where needed.
- Future Focused: Ability to learn and understand the market landscape for relevant vacancies
and understanding market challenges for roles. Is keen to learn hiring best practices.
- Resilience: Ability to manage competing pressures well and meet relevant deadlines
- Ability to create and update recruitment reporting and metrics, with good working knowledge
of Excel, MS Office and a recruitment systems such as Oracle HR
- Good knowledge of UK hiring employment law and practices.
