We are looking for an Associate Underwriter, Tech Cyber & Professional Lines to join our Specialty Lines Solutions team. In this role, you will support the underwriting of new and renewal business, analyze risk, and collaborate closely with our distribution partners to provide responsive, well-structured solutions. You will develop your technical expertise in Professional Liability, Technology E&O and Cyber Insurance lines of business, while building a strong foundation for a rewarding career in specialty underwriting.
How you will create impact:
- Assist in underwriting of a profitable portfolio of new and renewal business in Technology E&O, Cyber, and Professional Liability insurance, ensuring adherence to Sovereign’s risk guidelines and working under the supervision of senior team members.
- Review submissions, assess exposures, and assist in determining appropriate terms, conditions and pricing.
- Help collect and analyze industry and market information to support sound underwriting decisions.
- Collaborate with distribution channels to provide timely and responsive service to clients and brokers.
- Learn to identify and analyze risks by understanding controls, processes, and mitigation measures.

- This position also works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
What you need to know:
- You will handle sensitive information where a high degree of confidentiality and discretion is required.
- You may travel to market and represent the Technology, Cyber and Professional Liability team to our partner brokers and other distribution partners across Quebec, Atlantic Canada and occasionally in other Canadian provinces.
- You will be subject to a background check as a condition of employment, in the event you are the successful candidate.
- This position will operate on a hybrid work posture which will require an in-office presence of at least twice a week.
