- Fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and expanding Corporate Sales team
- Apply your technical expertise across a diverse portfolio of insurance products
- Hybrid role - 2 days per week at our Tiddington Head Office, Stratford-Upon-Avon
About the role:
At NFU Mutual, we’re committed to delivering outstanding products, ensuring our customers benefit from comprehensive coverage as standard. For customers who need solutions beyond our existing products, our in-house Wholesale Broking and Outplacement Services are vital – enabling Agents across our UK-wide Agency Network to access to the wider insurance market.
As a Commercial Account handler within our Wholesale Broking and Outplacement Services, you’ll be part of a growing Corporate Sales team where you’ll play a pivotal role in managing new business enquiries that drive our growth into specialist sectors across a broad range of commercial risks. These enquiries span everything from Property and Casualty to niche areas such as Marine Cargo, Freight Liability and Professional Indemnity. Using your broad technical knowledge you’ll work closely with our Agents, suppliers and insurers to secure the right terms and deliver a seamless, professional customer service.
Your day will always be varied. You’ll engage with Agents across our Agency Network to understand customer needs, prepare and refine risk presentations, and negotiate with providers to secure optimal cover. You’ll also ensure policy accuracy, oversee mid-term adjustments, and support claims administration where needed. Building strong relationships is central to our success, and you’ll play a key role in maintaining our outstanding retention rates and commitment to quality.
You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, varied environment, supported by a knowledgeable and friendly team. There are ample opportunities to learn from experienced colleagues and contribute to the department’s ongoing development.
This role is based in our Tiddington Head Office, just outside Stratford-Upon-Avon. However, we understand how important a positive work-life balance is, so to help you give your best, we offer great facilities when you want to be in an office environment and support to work up to 60% of your hours from home.
This role falls under Insurance Distribution Directive requirements, and as a result, role holders will be required to demonstrate ongoing Continuous Professional Development in role, along with undergoing regular re-screening to show that they are of “Good Repute”. Further information can be found in the FCA Handbook.
Internally, this role is known as National Intermediary Services (NIS) Commercial Account Handler.
About you:
You’re an experienced Commercial Account Handler with a strong grasp of core commercial insurance products. Confident in managing a varied workload, you excel in new business environments and support customers across product lines such as Property, Casualty and Contractor All Risk. Additional knowledge in Group Personal Accident, Travel, Marine Cargo or Freight Liability would be a real advantage.
You naturally build strong relationships and communicate with clarity. You take pride in the accuracy of your work and enjoy solving customer challenges. With a sharp eye for detail and strong prioritisation skills, you’re comfortable making sound judgments in a fast-moving setting.
To succeed in this role, you’ll also bring:
- The ability to assess complex or unusual risks, understand technical details, and develop tailored solutions
- A passion for exploring non-standard insurance areas, including Marine Cargo, liability, financial risk, or specialty lines
- Confidence in market-facing communications—liaising with insurers, interpreting their responses, and providing clear advice to Agents
- Excellent time-management skills, with the flexibility and agility to handle a broad spectrum of work.
Progress towards industry qualifications is welcome, and we’ll support your ongoing development through structured learning and continuous professional development.
