In this newly created role, you’ll transform data into valuable insights to guide our strategic conclusions and improve overall performance. As Data Developer you’ll be involved with the extraction, manipulation, cleaning, and transformation of complex data sets to support in-depth analyses that align with our policies and standards. Quality control is a top priority to ensure that all outputs are accurate, reliable, and ready for strategic use. As a developer, you’ll support and influence managers and colleagues across departments by investigating data and identifying opportunities to mitigate risks, thereby guiding NFU Mutual’s future direction through data-backed recommendations. Collaborating with different departments, you’ll design and implement data models to provide historical performance analysis and forecast trends. Through clear presentations of your findings and recommendations, you’ll empower departments to make strategic choices to achieve business objectives. Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders is vital. You’ll engage with teams regularly, ensuring effective communication and understanding their needs. In this role, you’ll continuously refine processes to align with our company policies, contributing to a more streamlined and effective approach to data analytics. To ensure seamless system adoption, you’ll develop and deliver training sessions for users of our Management Information and analytics systems. Your goal will be to keep users up-to-date and effective in utilising the tools available for data-driven decision-making. This role is based in our Tiddington Head Office, just outside Stratford-Upon-Avon. This role is known internally as a Data Analyst. About youYou’re a proactive data professional with recent UK experience, bringing strong capabilities in Management Information (MI) techniques. You’ll be used to supporting multiple projects simultaneously, managing your time effectively to ensure you can deliver work to a high standard. Your expertise spans data engineering, including data cleansing, manipulation, and warehousing, along with advanced proficiency in handling large datasets and spreadsheets. To join the team, you’ll: Be skilled in SQL and Excel (essential) and have knowledge of DevOps and ETL routines (desirable) Communicate effectively with diverse audiences and excel at stakeholder management Have an acute understanding of the impact data quality has on the end user and broader organisation. Analyse situations, identify issues, generate solutions, and select the best course of action; analyse complex problems and make informed, logical decisions. Though not essential, experience in the financial services or insurance industries would be desirable.
