The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for bridging the gap between IT and the business using data analytics to assess processes, determine requirements, and deliver data-driven recommendations and reports to executives and stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:
• Meet with PMO leadership and key stakeholders to understand the vision, scope and business objectives of project and non-project work.
• Elicit, analyze, and validate the business needs of key stakeholders, be they customers, end users or managing leadership.
• Analyze and understand the business’ systems and processes to identify opportunities for improvement or automation; pitch improvement recommendations.
• Conduct various types of analysis to support business decision making and business process improvement; share insights.
• Conduct technical and analytical discussions with project teams and management.
• Identify, understand, and document the business needs that technology systems and operational processes must meet.
• Create and/or sign-off on discovery documents, process maps, wireframes, and other visualizations.
• Collaborate with technology partners and demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the software development lifecycle; adhere to best practices.
• Demonstrate an advanced skill level and experience using Microsoft Office products by putting together workbooks and presentations that tell data-driven stories via data tables, written analysis, charts/graphs, and other visuals. Output should focus on user feedback, exploratory analysis and insights, root cause diagnoses, objective business results, or forecasts/predictive analytics.
• Document and ticket clear and complete requirements in alignment with the overall business strategies and system abilities.
• Create, manage and track a high volume of tickets spanning multiple initiatives in Jira.
• Create and document Acceptance Criteria and a Definition of Done to ensure that business requirements and functional specifications are developed implemented properly.
• Multi-task and coordinate with others to deliver commitments with quality on schedule.
• Write user manuals, assist with training, and provide user support, as requested.
• Assist with budget, resource, or production tracking and analytics, as requested.
Work Experience and Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or Business Administration (or other degree with an emphasis on software development or analytics)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Business Analyst role supporting technology, operations, data-analytics, or other shared services or business unit
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with Agile and/or Lean methodologies
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working on project teams
• Prefer 3+ years of experience in P&C insurance
Preferred Licenses & Certifications:
• Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Certified of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA)
• Agile Analysis Certification (AAC) or other Agile methodology certification
• Six Sigma or other lean methodology certification
• Advanced Excel, Smartsheet, or other similar certifications
• Associate in Insurance (AINS) or Chartered Property Underwriter (CPCU)
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)

• Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

The target salary range for this position is $88,000.00 - $110,000.00 annually.
The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
