The Compliance Coordinator is responsible for general administrative and accounting functions within the Compliance department as related to the Corporate Compliance team.
Essential Functions:
- Primarily responsible for processing requests for agent appointments and terminations; processing license renewals; tracking and recording agent certification of data security requirements.
- Able to support team/department/management with administrative tasks, tracking, calendars and presentation preparations.
- Review, allocate and pay invoices from third party vendors and Departments of Insurance (DOIs).
- Communicate as needed with regulators, vendors, and clients.
- Take incoming calls that reception staff are unable to handle; guide the caller to the appropriate resource.
- Capable of coordinating team activities and managing schedules as directed by management.
- Able to identify when tasks need to be escalated.
- Able to track/monitor activities to ensure timely completion.
- Able to make phone calls to obtain basic information without requiring extensive details.
- Maintain a basic knowledge of products and markets being served by State National Companies.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to management as needed.
- Able to proofread documents for grammar and consistency.
- Able to coordinate tasks that require participation between multiple parties.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with little supervision.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of account reconciliation and accounts receivable processes.
- Familiarity with cost allocation methodologies.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Some college preferred.
- 1 to 3 years of accounting experience preferred.
- Insurance company or agency experience helpful.
