This position is responsible for working effectively with the business, IT, and senior management to develop and design technology solutions to support user and IAT business needs. This role develops, creates, and modifies computer applications software and analyzes user needs, and develops software solutions. This position also designs software or customizes software for client use to optimize operational efficiency and analyzes databases within an application area, working individually, or as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzes the impact of requirements on affected systems.
- Conceives of potential approaches to providing automated solutions that meet the business requirements and confirms with users and/or business analysts.
- Provides effort and duration estimates for work to be performed.
- Designs solutions that promote ease of maintenance, reliability of application function and business data, and good performance.
- Implements solutions by creating or changing automated components to accurately meet the business requirements in accordance with design and development standards.
- Leads onshore and offshore developer teams along with their development efforts.
- Unit tests solutions to confirm they meet the business requirements, performing reliably and efficiently.
- Supports testing performed by others including explaining the solution and investigating and resolving problems.
- Provides production support by investigating and correcting issues assigned and informs others of recovery and/or correction actions that they can perform.
- Invests in the profession by improving the use of available tools and approaches, exploring new tools and approaches, sharing knowledge with other team members, and developing a deeper understanding of supported business processes.
- Manages very large changes independently.
- Provides guidance and mentors junior team members.
- Specifies standard methods, tools, and approaches to be used by the team.
- Attends requirements grooming sessions to weigh in on upcoming work and provide estimates for anticipated effort.
- Monitors team activity to ensure standard approaches are followed.
- Performs complex troubleshooting.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Equivalent experience to a degree is defined as a minimum of 4 years of direct experience as a Software Developer.
- Requires a minimum of 8 years of experience working as a .Net Developer or Equivalent Experience.
- Duck Creek policy implementation experience
- Experience in developing N-tier enterprise-wide applications (4-6 years) using ASP.NET, C#, .NET Framework, Web-based Technologies, LINQ, ADO.Net.
- Experience in XML, XSLT, XML Web Services, WCF.
- Experience with Visual Studio 2012 / 2013 and Source Control Systems (TFS, VSTS, Visual Studio Online).
- Solid understanding of tools required to deliver user interfaces, application logic, data access, databases / stores, and system to system interfaces.
- Understanding of using Azure DevOps methodologies.
- Ability to analyze and resolve conflicts related to merging of source code for Git
- Experience in SQL Server.
- Good skills in communicating with system users and others involved in systems development.
- Excellent skills in troubleshooting problems of high complexity.
- Good skills in estimating, planning, and managing own work and work of others.

- Prefer: solid experience in developing technology solutions in support of Commercial Insurance solutions
- Duck Creek policy implementation experience.
- Strong background in P&C Insurance.

Compensation:
Please note, if you live in Illinois, the typical salary range for this role is $72,560 - $157, 950.This range represents the anticipated low and high end for this position in that location. Actual salary will vary based on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and geographical location related to this specific role. The total compensation will include a base salary, performance-based bonus opportunities, 401(K) match, profit-sharing opportunities, and more.
