The Global Indirect Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, implementing, and managing global indirect procurement agreements covering approximately $50M–$75M in spend. This is an individual contributor role and will partner closely with global business units to deliver measurable value, optimize supplier performance, reduce risk, and advance AXIS’s procurement maturity.
The role requires strong category expertise, analytical skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders. The individual will lead complex sourcing events, vendor negotiations, and category strategies across AXIS’s most critical indirect categories.
Indirect Categories Under Management
This role will support strategy development and be accountable for sourcing, contracting, vendor management, and performance oversight for the following indirect procurement, and related categories:
HR Services
Marketing Services
Communication Services
Facility Services including Office Project Services (e.g., office construction)
Office Supplies
Subscriptions, Licenses and Memberships
Corporate Aviation
Global Travel Program & related vendor contracts
Contingent/SOW Labor Program & related temp labor contracts

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as a trusted technical advisor to internal stakeholders and budget owners across global business units.
Help shape and influence executive decisions on sourcing recommendations, policy changes, and budget-aligned savings.
Proactively synthesize and communicate category insights, benchmarks, and recommendations.
Facilitate transparent, data-driven decision-making.
Category Strategy & Sourcing Execution
Support development of category strategies that align with business objectives, market intelligence, and spend analytics.
Lead sourcing events (RFI/RFP/RFQ) including requirements gathering, competitive analysis, supplier evaluation, and negotiation strategy.
Conduct complex contract negotiations including MSAs, SOWs, SLAs, global/multi‑entity agreements, and performance frameworks.
Identify and execute value‑creation opportunities including cost optimization, process simplification, risk mitigation, and supplier innovation.
Vendor Management & Program Governance
Oversee vendor performance, compliance, and risk through an AXIS vendor performance & risk assessment framework.
Drive remediation, continuous improvement, and corrective action with strategic suppliers.
Manage contract lifecycles, renewals, amendments, and commercial governance.
Ensure proper vendor onboarding, data accuracy, and procurement workflow adherence.
Travel & Contingent Labor Contract and Program Operations Leadership
Lead AXIS’s Global Travel Program, including travel policy, agency relationships, contracting (air, hotel, ground, rail), reporting, compliance, communications, and traveler support processes.
Manage the Contingent/SOW Labor Program, including MSP/VMS (Fieldglass, Beeline, or similar), supplier oversight, rate cards, compliance, outsourced operating team, and onboarding standards.
Digital Procurement & Process Excellence
Utilize our e-sourcing software (Levelpath) to manage order intake, projects, sourcing events, contracting, analytics, and stakeholder/supplier collaboration.
Utilize the entire suite of available procurement tools for spend analysis, risk assessment, projects, and sourcing
Follow operating procedures that align with team expectations and global procurement policy
Promote digital adoption and continuous improvement within procurement and stakeholder groups.
Identify opportunities for automation, simplification, and modernization of procurement processes.
Financial & Analytical Responsibilities
Analyze spend data, market intelligence, and supplier financials to identify savings and strategic opportunities.
Present sourcing recommendations, financial impacts, KPIs, and insights to senior leadership.
Support annual budgeting cycles by validating savings, forecasting impacts, and aligning category strategies with business plans.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Four-year college degree in a business-related discipline
Minimum of 5-7 years in challenging roles in finance, sourcing, negotiations, category management, and vendor management
Technology savvy with experience in using e-sourcing, spend management, vendor management, and enterprise procurement tools to execute and manage sourcing projects
Experience structuring and negotiating contractual agreements including multi-country agreements, statements of work, licenses, and amendments
Strong thought leadership and desire to challenge the status quo
Ability to analyze and present category-related data to executives
A self-starter, enthusiastic, proactive contributor who takes on tasks and brings them to prompt completion
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Proven ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adjust priorities as necessary
Proven strong administrative and relationship management skills (internal and external); respect for confidentiality
Strong organizational skills including the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and bring them to resolution
A strong work ethic with a focus on accuracy, and attention to detail

Experience in insurance, financial services, or similarly regulated industries
Global sourcing or cross‑border contracting experience

Role Factors:
In this role, you will typically be required to:
Be in the office 3 days per week.
For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of $112,500 to $122,500 (GA). Your salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including your specific experience and work location.
In addition, you will be offered competitive target incentive compensation, with awards based on overall corporate and individual performance.
