The Project Analyst – AI & Data Transformation supports the delivery, financial governance, and reporting of enterprise AI and data initiatives within the insurance organization. This role partners with program managers, finance teams, data leaders, and engineering teams to coordinate AI platform initiatives, data modernization programs, and advanced analytics use cases.
The position plays a critical role in portfolio tracking, monthly forecast-to-actual financial reporting, and executive presentation development, ensuring AI and data investments are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
AI & Data Program Coordination
• Support planning and execution of AI and data transformation programs across underwriting, claims, risk analytics, fraud detection, and customer insights.
• Coordinate across data engineering, AI/ML teams, analytics teams, and business stakeholders.
• Maintain program documentation including project plans, roadmaps, and AI use case inventories.
• Track program milestones, dependencies, and delivery risks.
Financial Governance & Budget Management
• Manage financial tracking for AI and data transformation portfolios.
• Conduct monthly forecast-to-actual budget analysis across AI and data initiatives.
• Maintain rolling financial forecasts and forecast adjustments based on project progress, staffing changes, and vendor spend.
• Track financial metrics including:
• Budget utilization
• Forecast accuracy
• Variance analysis
• Cost drivers
• Monitor costs related to:
• AI and data platforms
• Cloud infrastructure
• Vendor and consulting services
• Software licensing
• Internal engineering resources
• Support quarterly reforecasting cycles and annual budgeting processes.
• Track CapEx vs OpEx allocations for technology investments.
• Prepare financial and program performance reports for executive leadership and PMO governance forums.
AI & Data Portfolio Governance
• Support portfolio management of AI and data use cases across the enterprise.
• Maintain visibility into AI project pipeline, prioritization, and investment allocation.
• Track progress across the AI lifecycle, including:
• Use case identification
• Model development
• Deployment
• Operational monitoring
• Assist leadership in measuring ROI and business value from AI investments.
Data Platform & AI Delivery Support
• Support implementation tracking for enterprise AI and data platforms, including environments built on Databricks.
• Assist with program coordination across data engineering, ML engineering, and analytics teams.
• Support Agile program execution using tools such as Jira.
Reporting, Dashboards & Executive Presentations
• Develop dashboards and reporting for program delivery and financial performance.
• Build and maintain executive reporting using tools such as:
• Microsoft Power BI
• Tableau
• Prepare executive presentations and program updates using Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Create presentation materials for:
• CIO/CDO leadership reviews
• AI governance committees
• Program steering meetings
• Quarterly business reviews (QBRs)
• Translate program metrics and financial data into clear visual storytelling for leadership decision-making.
Risk & Compliance
• Track program risks, financial exposure, and mitigation plans.
• Escalate budget or delivery risks impacting AI initiatives.
• Ensure alignment with data governance, AI governance, and regulatory requirements in the insurance industry.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field
• 1–6 years experience in project analysis, PMO, technology program management, or financial program tracking
• 1+ year Experience supporting technology, AI, or data platform initiatives
