Summer Intern, Underwriting and Claims Rotational Program

Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Summer Intern to join our 6 week rotational program in New York City. This internship offers hands on exposure to both our Underwriting and Claims divisions, providing a unique opportunity to learn how specialty insurance solutions are developed, evaluated, and supported throughout the policy lifecycle.
The intern will rotate through each division, gaining practical experience, building industry knowledge, and working alongside experienced professionals on meaningful business activities. This role is ideal for a student or early career candidate who is interested in insurance, risk management, finance, or business operations and is eager to learn in a fast paced, professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
Underwriting Rotation
Assist with gathering and reviewing submission information
Support underwriting teams with file documentation and data entry
Conduct basic research on industry segments, market trends, and risk considerations
Help prepare internal reports, presentations, and account materials
Observe the underwriting process from submission through quote development
Claims Rotation
Assist with claims file organization and documentation
Support claims professionals in tracking claim activity and follow up items
Review claim related materials for completeness and accuracy
Help compile reports, summaries, and operational updates
Gain exposure to the claims lifecycle and client service processes
Learning Opportunities
Develop a foundational understanding of underwriting and claims functions within the insurance industry
Build professional skills in communication, organization, analysis, and teamwork
Gain exposure to insurance operations, client service, and internal collaboration
Learn how cross functional teams support business outcomes and customer needs
Qualifications
Current undergraduate student or recent graduate preferred
Interest in insurance, business, finance, risk management, or a related field
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a professional office environment
Positive attitude, curiosity, and willingness to learn
Work Environment
This internship is based on site in New York City at 1 Park Avenue. Interns will work closely with team members across both divisions and will have the opportunity to build professional relationships while gaining practical experience in a collaborative office setting.
Compensation and Schedule
This is a paid internship at $25 per hour. The program begins on June 22 and ends on August 31.
The annual base salary for this position is Salary Range is $25/hr
