Responsible for the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payments, refunds, and financial transactions across multiple lines of business. This role supports operational excellence by ensuring adherence to internal controls, regulatory requirements, and service level agreements, while partnering with internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies, analyzing payment activity, and drive continuous process improvements.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Process payments, refunds, write‑offs, and journal entries accurately and on time
- Apply critical thinking and analysis to research and resolve payment discrepancies, exceptions, and returned items
- Review payment activity to identify trends, errors, and potential risks
- Ensure compliance with policies, controls, and audit requirements
- Monitor work queues, prioritize tasks, and meet service level expectations
- Partner with internal teams to resolve issues and improve payment workflows
- Support reporting, reconciliations, and continuous process improvement efforts

- Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyze data and identify issues
- Detail‑oriented with solid organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with team members and partners at various levels
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
- Demonstrates ability to apply conceptual thinking to daily tasks and process improvement opportunities
- Working knowledge of business‑related software and payment processing systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic to intermediate reporting functions (e.g., formulas, filters, pivot tables)
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, or business.
- Minimum of three years’ related experience.

In District of Columbia,California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $47,000 to $78,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
