Description
You will be responsible for developing new profitable business. Involved in all aspects of underwriting, including new business, renewal underwriting, you will develop and maintain long-term broker relationships and wallet share. You will also travel on an ad-hoc basis to meet our brokers in the UK and internationally.
A key aspect of your role will be to establish and maintain long-term broker relationships generating new business and maintaining renewal business in our core territories. You will also travel on an ad-hoc basis to meet our brokers both in the UK and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to and manage enquiries from brokers in a timely and professional manner
- Proactively develop and seek out new business via brokers and clients
- Explain the features, advantages and benefits of CFC’s new and existing products and coverage enhancements as well as supporting the launch of new products
- Attending and hosting corporate hospitality events
- Investigate insurance legislation, regulation, and compliance issues within our target markets
- Identify and research ongoing opportunities to develop our offering, including assisting our products team in the development of new products.
- Supporting the Financial Lines practice projects and supporting the underwriting team with training and induction of junior team members
- Meet and deliver to agreed performance standards and new business and renewal targets
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Financial Lines product underwriting.
- Self-motivated and proactive with a strong drive for success.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Adaptable and open to change in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyse data.
- Familiarity with AI tools like Copilot is an advantage.
