An Actuarial Services Senior Professional (ACAS or exam progressed candidate) will support reserving analyses, portfolio level modeling, and catastrophe risk analytics within a large, diversified Program Manager. This role is well suited for someone with approximately 4 or more years of actuarial experience who is looking to broaden their exposure beyond traditional reserving and pricing into portfolio and catastrophe analytics in a program business environment.
The position is an individual contributor role, working closely with underwriting, analytics, and actuarial leadership to support decision making across multiple programs, carriers, and reinsurance partners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reserving & Loss Analytics
- Support quarterly and annual reserving analyses across multiple programs and lines of business.
- Assist in preparing loss development, ultimate loss estimates, and IBNR analyses under the guidance of senior actuarial staff.
- Help analyze loss emergence, reserve movements, and key drivers by program and portfolio.
- Prepare supporting exhibits and documentation for internal reviews, carrier discussions, and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to reserve reviews by providing clear analysis and commentary on results and trends.
Portfolio & Actuarial Model Support
- Support the development and maintenance of portfolio level actuarial and financial models used for:
- Program profitability analysis
- Portfolio monitoring and segmentation
- Scenario and sensitivity testing
- Portfolio facility models that support large capacity arrangements with a diversified portfolio of program business
- Assist in combining loss experience, exposure data, and underwriting metrics into analytical frameworks and reconciling modeled projections with actuals
- Run model scenarios and help interpret results for underwriting and management audiences.
- Support data validation, reconciliation, and ongoing model enhancements.
Catastrophe Modeling & Exposure Analysis
- Assist with catastrophe modeling support at the program and portfolio level.
- Work with internal resources, vendors, or external partners to:
- Review catastrophe model outputs
- Summarize key metrics such as AALs, PMLs, and tail risk
- Compare results across models, assumptions, or exposure changes
- Help incorporate catastrophe loss views into broader portfolio analyses and profitability assessments.
- Support aggregation, concentration, and exposure monitoring efforts.
- Prepare materials to support underwriting, reinsurance, and capital discussions related to catastrophe risk.
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with underwriting, finance, third party actuarial teams, and internal analytics teams to support program reviews and portfolio monitoring.
- Assist with analytical support for new programs, program changes, or remediation efforts.
- Support reinsurance analytics, including understanding the impact of ceded structures on net results.
- Contribute to improvements in data quality, analytics processes, and actuarial tools.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Approximately 4–10 years of actuarial experience, with exposure to P&C reserving and pricing and reinsurance.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- ACAS preferred, or strong exam progress toward ACAS.
FUNCTIONAL SKILLS
- Experience with program business, MGAs, carriers, or reinsurance is a plus.
- Familiarity with catastrophe modeling concepts and outputs; hands on modeling experience is helpful but not required.
- Working knowledge of loss development methods and actuarial reserving techniques.
- Proficiency in Excel and actuarial analysis; experience with SQL, Python, or R is a plus.
- Ability to clearly summarize analytical results for non actuarial stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn across reserving, portfolio analytics, and catastrophe risk.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast paced environment.
- Clear communicator with the ability to translate analysis into business context.
