Job Profile Summary
The Facultative Reinsurance Analyst position is part of our Corporate Reinsurance organization, CNA’s reinsurance operations group, specifically situated within the Facultative Premium and Claims Team.
The ideal candidate will perform a variety of tasks including premium reconciliation, claims and data reporting and mailbox distribution. They will exhibit prior experience with data management, financial reconciliations, insurance/reinsurance, and/or claims management. The individual will have the opportunity to collaborate with both external markets and internal business units such as Claims, Underwriting, and Business Solutions.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Monitor exclusionary and additional reinsurance language on certificates.
Ensure contracts are approved daily according to department guidelines.
Monitor outstanding premium exceeding department guidelines to ensure the aging premium is reconciled.
Address new unacknowledged endorsements on a weekly basis.
Actively work with Underwriters to reduce the number of days between reinsurance effective date and binding date.
Review embedded language within Reinsurance submissions.
Work with Specific markets or brokers to educate them on CNA’s approved wording.
Makes recommendations for process improvements considering all aspects of the job along with internal guidelines, compliance and industry standards.
Provides guidance and assistance to less experienced reinsurance staff and other functional areas.
Analyzes data, prepares and presents reports to management with recommendations.
May perform additional duties as assigned.

Knowledge of reinsurance principles, practices and procedures, products and services.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of CNA's internal and external business partners.

Ability to exercise independent judgement and effectively resolve reinsurance issues.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting , economics, or related disciplines.
Typically a minimum of three to five years related insurance/reinsurance industry experience with a financial background.
Applicable professional designations, or related coursework preferred.

In District of Columbia,California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $54,000 to $103,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
