AgriSompo is seeking a strategic and execution-oriented leader to guide the development, integration, and scaling of artificial intelligence and intelligent automation initiatives across the organization. The VP, AI Strategy and Business Integration will be responsible for establishing and leading AgriSompo’s AI and automation roadmap, identifying high-value opportunities to improve operations, supporting cross-functional adoption, and ensuring initiatives are implemented in a practical, governed, and scalable manner.
This role will operate within a federally regulated crop insurance environment and will focus on applying AI and automation in ways that strengthen claims, underwriting, compliance, audit readiness, and operational consistency. All solutions will be designed to support, not replace, professional judgment, ensuring AI is used as decision support within established SOPs, regulatory guidance, and risk management requirements.
Acting as both a strategist and business integrator, working across operational teams, functional leaders, and technology stakeholders to translate business needs into AI and automation-enabled solutions that improve efficiency, visibility, consistency, and decision support. A key priority of the role is the practical application of AI in combination with workflow tools such as Power Automate, Office Scripts, Microsoft 365 capabilities, and related platforms to modernize work and supercharge business operations.
This position will work in close partnership with Sompo AI leadership to align strategy, share proven methods, accelerate adoption, and build a coordinated approach to AI innovation across both organizations. The role is expected to help establish durable collaboration channels between AgriSompo and Sompo so that successful solution patterns, governance models, and lessons learned can be reused and adapted where beneficial.

Job Responsibilities
AI and Automation Strategy Development
Build and maintain AgriSompo’s AI and automation strategy and roadmap in alignment with business priorities and broader enterprise direction.
Identify and prioritize high-value use cases where AI and intelligent automation can improve operational effectiveness, business responsiveness, and strategic decision-making.
Define initiative goals, success metrics, implementation milestones, and value realization measures for pilots and production deployments.
Translate strategic priorities into a manageable portfolio of practical, business-facing AI and automation initiatives.
Business Integration and Operational Transformation
Partner with functional leaders and operational teams to identify areas where AI and automation can improve workflows, reduce manual effort, and increase speed and consistency.
Serve as a bridge between business needs, process design, and technology capabilities to ensure solutions are grounded in real operational requirements.
Help embed AI and automation into day-to-day business processes in a way that is practical, scalable, and sustainable.
Promote AI as an integrated business capability rather than a standalone technical initiative.
Intelligent Automation and Microsoft Ecosystem Enablement
Lead the design of solutions that combine AI capabilities with Power Automate, Office Scripts, Microsoft 365 tools, and related platforms to streamline business processes.
Promote layered solution models in which automation handles orchestration, task routing, workflow triggers, approvals, and structured execution, while AI supports extraction, interpretation, summarization, recommendation, and decision support.
Identify repeatable automation patterns that can be used across departments to accelerate delivery and reduce duplication.
Support the creation of practical and scalable workflow solutions that improve operational quality and productivity.
AI Solution Delivery and Adoption
Oversee the development, testing, launch, and continuous improvement of AI tools, automated workflows, and related business solutions.
Coordinate with business stakeholders, IT, and governance partners to move solutions from concept through pilot to production.
Drive user adoption through communication, training, enablement, and business-focused support strategies.
Measure and communicate business impact, including efficiency gains, reduction in manual effort, user adoption, and quality improvements.
Governance, Quality, and Responsible AI
Ensure all AI and automation initiatives comply with corporate governance standards, privacy expectations, data handling requirements, and responsible-use principles.
Build quality assurance, review, and oversight mechanisms into the design and deployment lifecycle.
Partner with compliance, security, IT, and business leadership to support safe, reliable, and trusted deployment practices.
Help create a sustainable AI capability within AgriSompo that balances innovation with control and accountability.
Innovation Leadership and Organizational Capability Building
Establish and manage a pipeline of AI and automation opportunities, proofs of concept, pilots, and scaled initiatives.
Foster a culture of practical experimentation tied to measurable business value.
Monitor relevant AI and automation developments and translate them into actionable internal opportunities.
Deliver internal education, showcases, and leadership updates to strengthen AI literacy, readiness, and adoption across the organization.
Sompo–AgriSompo Collaboration
Work in close partnership with Sompo AI leadership to align strategy, share best practices, and accelerate capability development across both organizations.
Identify opportunities to adapt successful Sompo AI and automation approaches for AgriSompo business needs, & vice versa.
Promote a coordinated AI ecosystem by aligning on practical methods, governance expectations, workflow design principles, and reusable solution patterns.
Support joint pilots, shared learning, and cross-company collaboration that reduce duplication and improve speed to value.

Salary Range: Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
