About the role:
We are looking for an accountant to provide cash management and accounts payable support to several key re/insurance entities and service companies within the Munich Re Group. This is an exciting opportunity for an accountant looking to work in a supportive team providing accounting services to entities generating c. £4bn premium and growing. Responsibilities are varied and shared and would provide the right individual with a grounding in several important areas of finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet cash management reporting and monitoring deadlines on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
- Daily, weekly and quarterly liquidity forecasting
- Monitor bank accounts and liquidity levels
- Effective communication between group companies, investment managers at Group level and all stakeholders. Manage the relationship with our banking partners
- Assist in maintaining the team’s shared mailboxes, ensuring queries are responded to in a timely manner
- Process payments with efficiency, accuracy and adhering to company policies
- Process staff and company credit card expenses
- Ensure all staff expenses are processed in a timely manner and with data quality
- Process vendor invoices
- Complete vendor reconciliations
- Report on vendor, bank, customer and other balance sheet open items – manage these with relevant teams
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations

Key Skills & Experience:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Able to communicate clearly and concisely in person/online and in writing
- Experience in Cash Management & Accounts Payable, ideally in a large global organisation in which adherence to Group standards is required
- Working knowledge and experience of SAP
- Keenness to learn new things
- Focused on quality and excellent attention to detail
- Microsoft Excel and Word: good level
- Experience of applying the correct VAT treatment on transactions
- Proven use of online banking tools
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
- At least full member of AAT or other equivalent finance recognised qualification
