The Consulting Director serves as a strategic advisor and subject matter expert in business process redesign. This individual contributor role focuses on delivering high-impact project management, driving process improvement initiatives, and supporting organizational transformation efforts. The role requires deep expertise in business process management and the ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders across the organization.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
- Provides expert consulting on process improvement initiatives and business strategies. Partners with business leaders to identify and prioritize high-impact opportunities aligned with strategic goals.
- Manages complex projects and programs independently, assuming responsibility for pace, scope, and risk. Builds and maintains relationships with project sponsors and stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
- Supports the design and implementation of continuous process improvement programs. Offers thought leadership and advises on the structure and value of formalized programs centered on business process management.
- Develops and applies consistent, repeatable process assessment and redesign methodologies, tools, and techniques including root cause analysis and identification of value-add activities.
- Contributes to the development of methodologies for business process management. Designs tools and techniques for ongoing measurement, evaluation, and improvement of business processes.
May perform additional duties as assigned.

- Demonstrated expertise in business process management and redesign.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Ability to work independently and influence without authority.

- Experience developing frameworks for process redesigns and lean mapping.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree with Master’s degree preferred in a related discipline or equivalent.
- Typically, a minimum of 8 years of related work experience, including 5 or more years’ experience in process improvement or project management roles.
- P&C Insurance experience required.
- Experience managing large-scale process improvement projects.
- Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or project management (PMP) preferred.

In certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In District of Columbia,California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $97,000 to $189,000 annually. Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
