Position Overview:
Amwins Benefits is seeking an experienced and service-minded Employee Benefits Account Manager to support our broker partners and their small group and mid-market clients.
This role sits at the center of the client and broker experience — managing the movement of business from quotes through installation and ongoing service. It is ideal for someone who enjoys the technical side of employee benefits, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering accurate, responsive, high-quality work.
The right person will bring a strong working knowledge of employee benefits, an ability to manage multiple priorities with precision, and a mindset built around service, follow-through, and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage incoming quote requests from broker partners and coordinate the case process from submission through resolution.
- Work closely with medical and ancillary carriers throughout underwriting and proposal development.
- Review and analyze benefit offerings, underwriting outcomes, plan options, and claim experience to support competitive recommendations.
- Prepare polished, broker-facing sales and proposal materials that clearly communicate plan designs, pricing, and carrier requirements.
- Communicate underwriting results, carrier requirements, benefit plan details, and implementation steps to brokers and agency partners.
- Support broker conversations, presentations, and client-facing interactions as needed.
- Coordinate and process new group case installations accurately and efficiently.
- Provide ongoing service and problem resolution for in-force accounts, including more complex service-related issues.
- Serve as a reliable day-to-day resource to broker partners by delivering prompt, accurate, and solutions-oriented support.
- Help maintain a high standard of professionalism, responsiveness, and execution across the service lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Experience in employee benefits account management, client service, underwriting support, carrier relations, or general agency operations.
- Working knowledge of group medical and ancillary benefits, including quoting, renewals, underwriting processes, and implementation.
- Ability to manage multiple cases, priorities, and deadlines without sacrificing accuracy or follow-through.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain benefit and carrier information clearly and professionally.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills
- Proficiency in preparing proposals, spreadsheets, presentations, and broker/client-ready materials.
- High attention to detail and comfort working in a technical, deadline-driven environment.
- A service-oriented, team-first mindset with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Preferred but not required:
- Experience supporting small group and/or mid-market employee benefits business.
- Experience within a General Agency, brokerage, carrier, or benefits consulting environment.
- Texas Life and Health license or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
