Job Description
S&S Transportation & Sharing Economy is looking for a Director who enjoys being a key part of a dynamic team. The Director of Claims, will be responsible for providing operational leadership, oversight and performance management for claims associated with large fleet and commercial transportation programs. This role supports strategic initiatives while ensuring high-quality claim handling, timely resolution, and strong partnerships with Third Party Administrators (TPAs), internal stakeholders, and external clients.
Additionally, in this role, you will be responsible for effective operational risk management, regulatory compliance, and a thorough understanding of policies and procedures. The Director will partner closely with senior leadership to implement best practices, support business objectives, and drive continuous improvement in claims operations.
This position is fully remote.
What you will do for C&F:
- Contribute to the development and execution of the claims strategy in alignment with divisional goals.
- Oversee day‑to‑day operational performance of Large Fleet claim programs, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to guidelines.
- Provide oversight authority for TPAs and other claim partners handling Large Fleet losses.
- Participate in the vetting, monitoring, and periodic auditing of TPA performance and report findings to senior leadership.
- Review and analyze claims that exceed adjuster or TPA authority levels and provide direction on resolution strategies.
- Assist in developing litigation management approaches for assigned losses and ensure alignment with company expectations.
- Provide technical guidance to internal stakeholders and TPA teams on complex and high‑severity claims.
- Establish, track, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics for Large Fleet claims programs.
- Identify loss trends and communicate observations to underwriting, product, and actuarial partners as needed.
- Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
- Be responsible for service, loss control, and loss adjustment expense.
- Support preparation of program reports for quarterly business reviews and partner meetings.
- Collaborate with internal partners on process improvement, product feedback, and operational enhancements.
- Participate in client and account review meetings to provide claims expertise and program feedback.
- Identify training needs and help develop resources for claim staff and TPA personnel.
- Drive initiatives that improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency across the Large Fleet claims program.
- Promote a culture of high-quality service, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
- Ensure appropriate reserving, escalation, and settlement recommendations from TPA partners.
- Be accountable for ensuring compliance with regulations, policies, procedures, and the fair claims settlement practices act.
- Understand, research, and work to influence the financial impact for the respective business areas.
What you will bring to C&F:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 10+ years of experience within the Large Fleet, Commercial Auto, or Transportation.
- Five years in a Claims leadership role preferred; Supervisor, Manager or Director.
- Experience handling or overseeing rideshare programs, large fleet, commercial transportation, and sharing economy insurance programs, with preferred experience in Third Party Administrator (TPA) oversight and management; may also be responsible for adding additional oversight to other TPA accounts as required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required state adjuster licenses.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Excellent claim analytics, presentation skills, and proven problem-solving abilities.
- Experience using, interpreting, solutioning and leading with data.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and work in a cooperative manner.
- Adapts easily to change.
- Proficient with use of computers and Microsoft Office Outlook, Word and Excel.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Occasional travel required.

Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $111,100.00 to a maximum of $162,900.00. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
