We're looking for a Governance & Risk Assistant Manager to join our Governance team at Charles Taylor Assistance. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with insurance and compliance experience who enjoys working across multiple business areas to support operational resilience, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
You'll work closely with operational teams, senior stakeholders, and suppliers to help ensure we meet our regulatory obligations, manage risk effectively and deliver the highest standards of governance across the business.
What you will be doing
- Support the delivery of governance, compliance, and risk management activities ensuring adherence to regulatory, client and internal requirements
- Assist with operational resilience, business continuity planning, consumer duty and other regulatory initiatives across the business
- Identify, assess, and monitor operational and compliance risks supporting the development and implementation of effective mitigation plans
- Conduct Tier 2 audits, monitoring and quality assurance activities across operations and key suppliers to ensure compliance and continuous improvement
- Support sanctions screening, auditing, and reporting activities ensuring alignment with Group policies and regulatory requirements
- Produce, analyse, and report management information (MI), audit findings and compliance data to support governance forums and operational decision-making
- Help develop, maintain and improve governance controls, policies, procedures and training materials to promote best practice
- Record, investigate and monitor identified risks, incidents and compliance issues, supporting corrective actions and fraud prevention initiatives
- Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders, clients and suppliers, promoting a culture of governance, accountability and continuous improvement

Essential skills and experience
- Minimum of 2 years' operational experience within the insurance industry
- Experience of auditing, monitoring or compliance oversight
- Knowledge of general insurance regulation and governance practices
- Understanding of risk management principles
- Knowledge of sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption requirements
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and present clear summaries
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to build positive working relationships and influence stakeholders
- Self-motivated with a flexible approach to work
