Job Description
The Workers’ Compensation Subrogation Representative is responsible for managing, investigating, and resolving workers’ compensation subrogation recovery files on behalf of RSI’s clients within the ESIS/Chubb framework. This role requires strong knowledge of subrogation principles, excellent client service skills, sound case management judgment, and the ability to meet established recovery goals. The Representative will work collaboratively with internal teams, external clients, Account Executives, and claim staff to support recovery outcomes and uphold RSI’s reputation for quality service.
Reporting Structure
This position reports directly to the RSI Manager/Supervisor within the Workers’ Compensation Subrogation unit.
Technical and Quality File Handling
- Maintain high-quality recovery file handling, with an average quality review score of 90% and a target of 95% or above.
- Maintain diaries so that no item exceeds 30 days from the current date.
- Achieve a 95% success rate when applying fees to recoveries.
- Maintain a closing ratio of at least 100%.
- Achieve 90% compliance with best practices by indexing all emails and attached documents into the claim system within 5 business days of receipt.
- Complete preliminary reviews of all new referrals within 5 business days of assignment.
- Support RSI’s overall revenue and recovery goals.
- Maintain accurate data entry and billing records.
- Develop proficiency in claims and subrogation management systems.
Strategic Case Management and Stakeholder Relations
- Maintain professional business relationships with key internal and external contacts.
- Identify and implement efficient case handling practices to support timely file closure and settlement where appropriate.
- Direct investigations, evaluate third-party liability, pursue subrogation recoveries, and negotiate settlements for workers’ compensation and/or AGL claims in multiple jurisdictions.
- Manage files in litigation and direct subrogation counsel as appropriate.
- Pursue promise-to-pay cases after settlement has been reached.
- Respond promptly and professionally to client and Account Executive inquiries.
- Provide accurate and timely claim review status reports to relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in claim reviews with claim staff as requested.
Customer Service
- Comply with all recovery instructions and established service protocols on an account-by-account basis.
- Provide thoughtful and timely responses to management and customer inquiries.
- Participate in claim reviews as directed by management.
- Provide training and knowledge sharing to ESIS/Chubb staff as requested by RSI Management.
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with key clients, claim staff, and Account Executives.
Qualifications
- College degree and state licenses preferred.
- 5–7 years of experience handling workers’ compensation claims.
- Experience in workers’ compensation claims handling, subrogation, or recovery services preferred.
- Familiarity with subrogation billing systems and claims management platforms.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, brokers, and carriers.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong sense of accountability and professional integrity.
An applicable resident or designated home state adjuster’s license is required for ESIS Field Claims Adjusters. Adjusters that do not fulfill the license requirements will not meet ESIS’s employment requirements for handling claims. ESIS supports independent self-study time and will allow up to 4 months to pass the adjuster licensing exam.

The pay range for the role is $69,000 to $110,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. The disclosed pay range estimate may be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
